The International Film and TV IP Promotion Conference at 2024 GRIFF Industry focused on remakes and IP adaptation. Through thematic discussions and project presentations, guests discussed in depth how to promote quality film and TV content in China and global markets and how to put cross-border cooperation into practice. At the seminar, guests noted that IP adaptation and cross-border remakes have become an important trend in the globalized film market. Wang Qiao, vice president of New Classics Media, analyzed the potential value of cross-border IP by sharing the experience of adapting the Japanese original for YOLO. Producer Jiang Wei used the success of The Meg as an example to explain how to balance commercial appeal with cross-cultural acceptance.

As the global film industry becomes more diverse and international, successful IP adaptation and cross-border cooperation need to balance cultural resonance, market adaptability and copyright protection. Italian representative Alberto Bolognesi stressed that cross-border cooperation must take full account of local cultural differences and strictly comply with copyright rules to ensure the legality and cultural adaptability of adapted works. The event brought together producers and rights holders from different countries and regions to discuss new opportunities for international cooperation.
