Synopsis

This short film tells of Yu Nian, who is trapped in a dream. Prompted by the deity Meng Nuo, she helps a stone man deliver a letter and sets off on a fantastic dream journey. In the fairy-tale dream world she gradually recovers the parts of herself she had lost, and the moment she wakes, she finally makes a major decision in her life. The black hole in the dream stands for Yu Nian's pursuit and exploration of her dreams; the stones, pigeons and black hole are metaphors for the things in her life that keep her from chasing her dreams. The film experiments with bringing dreamcore aesthetics into a short film; while experimenting with audiovisual language it keeps the story complete, trying to maintain a balance between experiment and narrative.
