Golden Rooster Film Academy

In Conversation: Chen Kaige and Robert Zemeckis

At the Golden Rooster Film Academy conversation, Chen Kaige and Robert Zemeckis expressed optimism about the future of world cinema. They said that although technological progress will change how people watch films, the core value and appeal of film as an art form will not change. As an art of time and space, cinema is meeting the future in richer forms.

As the two directors stressed, however technology develops, what moves people is still the emotion and story in a film. They encouraged young filmmakers to make use of the many opportunities offered by film festivals so that more people can see their work.
