Synopsis

Lin Xunqian, a chronic insomniac, receives a home visit from Wu Meng, who says she is a sleep investigator. The two find that Lin Xunqian's bed has run away, and he is forced to set off with Wu Meng in search of it. Along the way they grow closer, but Lin Xunqian gradually realizes Wu Meng seems to be hiding something. He learns that Wu Meng seems to be someone he already knew, but she keeps avoiding the subject. The bed appears of its own accord and tells Lin Xunqian the truth, which opens a rift between them. After the bed's magic takes them to a car park, they argue and Wu Meng storms off. Searching for her, Lin Xunqian arrives at a dreamlike swimming pool. In the pool, the bed unfolds an illusion, and Lin Xunqian realizes that all the adventures in the dream come from his real memories with Wu Meng. The bed's aim is to destroy these memories and keep him numb. Lin Xunqian realizes that the pain these memories bring comes from his love for Wu Meng. In the end, he chooses to shatter the illusion, rescue the one he loves in the dream and return to the real world.
