Synopsis

Wu Jianxun is a 40-year-old man going through a midlife crisis. A graduate of a well-known art academy, he has been a commercial director for nearly 20 years, and has a beautiful wife, Wen Xin, and a teenage daughter, Keke. But his life is not as happy as it looks from the outside. His wife is successful in her career and very much a strong, driven woman, while he keeps running into setbacks at work: he has been replaced by his own student, and young audiences don't like his work. His career and marriage are both in trouble, he does not get along with his adolescent daughter, he has little standing at home, his wife does not understand him at all, his daughter does not respect him, and he even sees himself as a failure in life. During an argument with a client at work, Wu Jianxun injures his foot. While recovering at home, he happens to meet Meiyi, a pretty university student who has just moved in next door. Full of energy, she lights up his gray life like a flame and makes his heart stir. Meanwhile, his wife Wen Xin has begun an affair with a wealthy businessman, and events start moving in a direction that is both amusing and impossible to predict.
