The Evolution of Humankind
The Evolution of Humankind
Synopsis
In a sense, we are already half machine. We check our phones all the time and communicate with others through them. We use electronic devices to film our daily lives and store our memories on computers. We have started staying indoors and exploring the world through our phones. We listen to music on headphones to block out every sound we don't want to hear. From the moment we open our eyes in the morning until we fall asleep at night, whenever we are awake, electronic devices are always with us. Leaving the phone behind feels like having a phantom limb. The film looks at four parts of the human body: the brain, the eyes, the mouth and the ears, and discusses the main functions of each organ and how electronic devices are replacing them.
