Distant Mountains and Ashi
Distant Mountains and Ashi
Synopsis
Ashi, a Yi girl, shines on the football pitch with her talent. As she graduates from high school, she stands at a crossroads: on one side, an offer from the provincial team; on the other, an admission letter from a prestigious university. But her father insists that a university education is the guarantee of her future and opposes a career in professional football. The disagreement between them is like a gulf that is hard to cross. At this difficult time, Ashi's childhood friend A Le steps up. He is not only her close friend but also her firm support on the road to her dream. With A Le's encouragement and help, Ashi begins to look inside herself again and finds that her love of football goes far beyond her academic ambitions. A Le's company makes her more certain of her choice. In the end, in the contest between tradition and her personal dream, Ashi chooses the dream. She breaks free of her constraints, turns down the secure path her father laid out for her, and chooses the challenging and uncertain path of a professional footballer. She knows it will be a journey of hardship and sweat, but it is the way to her dream. Ashi's story is about courage, persistence and self-fulfillment, and through her actions she shows the world that whatever their background, everyone has the right to pursue their dreams.
