Synopsis

The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 changed Xiao Dabao's life. Not yet recovered from the loss of his daughter, he returns to China from New Zealand against his wife's wishes to see his critically ill father. Under epidemic control rules he must undergo centralized quarantine. During his hotel quarantine, anxiety and pain push him to the brink of collapse, and each day he drifts between hallucination and reality, until his father's love finally rescues him from despair. The film is an improvised work made by director Xiao Xiao during his own hotel quarantine. It was a one-person crew: with no script, he wrote as he shot, directed and acted himself, and the story is entirely fictional. The whole film was shot in the quarantine hotel room by the director himself, entirely on a Huawei phone.
