Synopsis

In a small town near Shaxian, Zhou Zhe, who is about to take the high school entrance exam, starts to worry because the birthday of Yu Ling, the girl he has liked since childhood, is approaching. He often finds excuses not to eat at home and saves the meal money he gets from his mother. His good friend Wang Tengfei lives comfortably because his parents run a snack shop in Shanghai. Zhou Zhe envies how easily Wang Tengfei can buy expensive gifts, and resents his own parents all the more for not going out to open a Shaxian snack shop and earn a better life for him. As Yu Ling's birthday approaches and he has not saved enough, Zhou Zhe secretly takes money from his mother's bag, and this summer, bound to be full of regret and growth, has only just begun...
