Synopsis

After graduating from university, Zhang Jingtian has nothing to do and rents a place with his girlfriend Li Ling. Just then their residential compound is locked down because of the pandemic. The two, already incompatible, begin to clash over trivial matters of daily life. The film focuses on one of their quarrels and unfolds it in a highly dramatic, playful way. The whole film was shot on a mobile phone in a true single continuous take. In pre-production, many rehearsals coordinated the blocking with the phone camera movement to achieve the best possible result. The single-take approach was chosen to show fully how a small matter escalates layer by layer into conflict, giving the audience a continuous, immersive emotional experience.
