Director: Li Xinyu | Wen Baigao | Hu Zhuotao

Synopsis

A food delivery rider obsessed with electronic music sets off on a chance journey back to simplicity, about creation and inspiration. Now You Listen is a short drama we shot on mobile phones. The team comes from Echo Pictures Studio, and the directors are all students at the Central Academy of Drama. The story was inspired by real experience. I am someone who usually wears noise-cancelling headphones and shuts myself away in a restless, noisy world of music. One day, by chance, I took the headphones off and was surprised to find the sounds of everyday life pouring into my ears in a highly dramatic way. That moment was captivating, and it led to the idea for this short film about sound; we then wrote the script together. I have long wanted to make a film on this subject. Now You Listen is an attempt, and also a beginning.
