Synopsis

At the farmers' market there is an odd old man surnamed Wang, from Inner Mongolia, who wears a red mandarin jacket and keeps an old cat at home. He runs a gluten stall with his wife, Run'ai. He once had a stroke and recovered through exercise. People around him find him odd, saying he does not act his age. One day, without telling his family, he buys a new car on his own... To live a whole life without ever living for yourself is a sad thing, and Grandpa Wang is one such person. This is the story of a 70-year-old man pursuing his dream in a hard reality. Deep down he has always dreamed of driving, but because of his age the dream is not allowed, and the strongest objection comes from his children: he should act like an old man, and if he does not, he is disgracing his age and being an eccentric. Old people have many dreams, but most cannot realize them under the restrictions of their children, which is sad. So when Grandpa Wang decides to buy a car, he decides to go for it. Grandpa Wang lives for himself and decides to stay eccentric. An eccentric old man? Having a dream is not odd at all!
