Synopsis
Through a repetitive, fragmented sensory narrative, the film tells of Anthony (Anthony Hopkins), elderly and ill, who faces a difficult choice: move into a care home or accept the new caregiver his daughter has found. In the process, Anthony feels as if he has entered a strange journey through time and space. Jumbled memories and timelines weave together a series of baffling episodes, and people who seem both unfamiliar and familiar leave him confused. The film is adapted from the stage play The Father by French novelist and playwright Florian Zeller.
