Creative Statement
The story follows Huiling, whose husband is accidentally electrocuted during an argument with her about his affair. Three women of different ages and classes, Huiling, the mistress and the housekeeper, each react to the event in their own way. Their lives intersect, yet each remains her own person. They move from loathing each other, to watching each other, to pulling together, and finally to looking at themselves anew, facing the problem and taking responsibility. How their relationship forms and holds is the lifeblood of the film and the invisible rein that pulls at the audience's hearts.
Synopsis
Huiling, a full-time housewife, has long wanted a child of her own, but her husband Sun Chong's affair devastates her. Unable to bear his humiliation, she accidentally kills him. In despair she tries to take her own life but is saved by the housekeeper Wang Aihua and her husband's lover Ziyu. At the same time, Huiling discovers she is pregnant. To regain control of their lives, three women of different classes and ages, all of whose lives have spun out of control, join forces. They face not only a relentless police investigation and the layers of schemes her husband left behind, but also, more frightening still, the darkness in people's hearts...

Logline
