Xiao Lu is in her early thirties, living the life of a working traveler, and when she learns that she has a breast tumor, she decides to take her parents on their only and possibly last family trip.

故事大纲

Xiao Lu is 32 years old and has been traveling away from home for a long time. When she learns that she has terminal breast cancer, she decides to invite her parents to join her on her final journey. The family traveled to the hot island of Hainan for a four-day reunion on a winter day, not getting along well, but getting closer to each other. Xiao Lu takes her parents to climb volcanoes, eat at stalls, and soak in hot springs, trying to open herself up as much as possible to let her parents into her life, while for her parents, all they want to do is stay at the hotel and play mahjong. In the middle of the journey, the conflict between the two sides reaches its peak and they almost break up, but they reconcile during a vigil together to see a baby sea turtle being born. Toward the end of the journey, her father dies of a heart attack, leaving her with only her mother to say goodbye to.

Director's Profile

Dai Xiaolu (also the screenwriter of this project) Born in Shanghai in 1984, Dai Xiaolu graduated from the directing department of the Beijing Film Academy in 2007, and became the assistant director of Jia Zhangke's documentary "Legends of the Sea" in 2009, and the assistant director of young director Song Fang's film "Calm" in 2017. In 2022, his short film "Island" was selected for the "Photosynthesis Program" of Noon Sun; in 2024, his short film "Sparrow's Tail" was selected as one of the top ten directors for the "Shanhai Program".

Producer Profile

He Bin Graduated from the Recording Department of Beijing Film Academy in 2007, and engaged in film music composition, sound direction, sound design for stage productions, etc. In 2015, he switched to the field of producer, and in 2018, he completed his first producer's work, the film "Over the Spring", which was selected for the New Generation Unit of the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, and was awarded the Fimu Honors for Best Film of the 2nd Pingyao International Film Festival, which was released in public theater in 2019.
