Angel, Devil, Victim

Creative Statement

In the age of the mobile internet, information, emotions and desires are all accelerated and amplified. It used to take a long time to make someone famous or reviled by thousands; now 48 hours is enough. Online, we hurt others without a second thought, yet this can have a huge effect on their real lives. Should we let this negative energy drive our lives, or return to warmth and kindness? We hope to make a film that reflects on the internet. Such subjects are rare, yet closely tied to everyone's lives; we believe this subject has both depth and warmth.

Synopsis

In a big city, six ordinary people make a living through the mobile internet: a food delivery rider, a livestreaming girl, a hotel owner, a ride-hailing driver, an internet entrepreneur and a self-media blogger. Under the pressures of life, they exploit the speed, one-sidedness and falseness of online information, using online opinion to hurt others for their own gain; at this point they are like devils. But in the torrent of online opinion no one is safe, nothing can be controlled, and everyone becomes a victim. Battered, they finally come to their senses, and their actions offline show the better side of human nature. Facing those who hurt them and those they hurt, they choose tolerance, reconciliation and help; now their hearts are like angels'. Within 48 hours, anxiety, impulse, anger, reconciliation, kindness and mixed emotions pass between them, pile up and collide, forming a many-sided mirror of real social life.
