Who Says Ants Don't Work Overtime

Who Says Ants Don't Work Overtime

Best Micro Short Honor
Director: Wang Ze, Yao Zonghu

Synopsis

The film follows the experiences of a worker ant at the bottom of the colony and pokes fun at its working life in the first person. From its point of view, the ant world also has many unwritten "rules": some ants wander around the entrance all day and manage to avoid being assigned tasks, while others work themselves to exhaustion and remain just a cog in the machine. Fed up with this life, the ant gathers its courage one rainy day to run away, break with prejudice and become an ant with dignity. It will follow the current and drift somewhere farther away, even if the journey leads into the unknown. Through the eyes of an ant, the film reflects the inner world of today's workers, and hopes that every worker at the bottom has the resolve to "escape on a rainy day."
