The story revolves around Zhang Jinghui, a middle-aged man living in Macao, and a foreign migrant worker who is Dadu. These two men have different skin colors and races and are inextricably linked. Dadu is in the "work visa expire" period, and Zhang is in the "cold period" of feelings towards his father. The death of Dadu's father makes the two together. Although the language and experience may differ, the two people feel the most fundamental emotions, which also affect each other's road to redemption, allowing them to step through this emotional "cold river" together.
