Film Introduction
"Kawan" means friend in Malaysia. A poor Malay man, Fuan, who steals cars to make ends meet, happens to meet a Chinese man, Yeon, who is being bullied by other children, and helps him out. Yeon keeps pestering Fuan, and Fuan can't turn his back on him, so he takes in Yeon, who has no place to go, and takes her on a journey to find her mother. Although they are of different races and do not speak the same language, Fu-An expresses himself in a way that Yeon-Yeon understands, and the journey is filled with laughter and warmth.
