Synopsis
Cabiria, a prostitute, longs for a stable life with a loving partner but repeatedly faces betrayal and heartbreak. Her first lover not only takes all her savings but also pushes her into a river, nearly killing her. Despite this, she remains hopeful about love. One day, she spends the night with an actor after a chance encounter, only to be heartbroken again when his girlfriend unexpectedly returns to reconcile. Later, she accepts the proposal of a charming man and sells all her possessions, dreaming of a new life with him. However, he too turns out to be a conman, stealing her money and almost killing her. Left with nothing, Cabiria breaks down in tears, but the cheerful songs of a passing group of young people lift her spirits, and she smiles once again.
