Synopsis

After my grandfather Guilin passed away, I remained wrapped in guilt and regret for not being with him in his final days. Long before that, I had got into the habit of "secretly filming" my family. I used to record my grandfather's daily life without his knowing, and after he was gone, the habit continued. These recordings, seemingly without purpose, were my way of looking for traces of him through the lens. With my own camera, I tried to pin down the marks he left behind, using deliberate remembering to resist the forgetting that time brings, and to reach toward him across life and death.
