The Vanished Gods
The Vanished Gods
Synopsis
The film begins with a chance meeting between a fugitive truck driver and a surrogate mother, each hiding their identity. On the delivery route they come to rely on each other, and when their identities are finally revealed, the fugitive chooses to protect the woman. The "divinity" in human nature is awakened, and the two redeem each other. Though the film is about gods, what it really expresses is human nature. The male and female leads both live on the margins of society. The woman longs for the gods' protection for the child she is carrying, but the gods do not look after every corner of the city, and she receives no help. Instead, it is the fugitive who leaves her the "home" he depends on to survive. It is the "divinity" within human nature that protects her; the gods do not exist.
