Synopsis

Chen Mo, a middle-aged filmmaker, has long struggled for his dream of making films. After countless failures his life has hit a low point. By chance he learns that one of his screenplays has been selected for a major film festival, which gives him hope of a turnaround in his career. But just as he happily prepares for the next day's pitch, he discovers that the screenplay was generated with AI by his wife, behind his back, to help him out of his difficulties. Chen Mo is deeply torn. On the one hand, he resists works created by AI and holds that filmmaking must come from real human emotion and inspiration; on the other, with the pitch the next day, if he gives up this screenplay he is likely to lose a rare opportunity once again. Under great pressure, he tries to trust AI. The decision plunges him into deep self-doubt and forces him to face the serious challenges that traditional filmmaking faces in the wave of technology.
