Synopsis
Ji Mo has returned after three years studying art abroad. After being turned down for job after job, she pins her last hopes on a high-end study-abroad agency in Beijing's Guomao business district. On the day of her interview, she is taken in by the company's polished front, but while waiting she happens to see a consultant, Veronica, using manipulative PUA tactics to pressure a student, Qiaoqiao, into signing a contract. Veronica falsely claims that a "senior teacher, Evelyn" can guarantee a successful application, while actually planning to get by with a trial lesson given by an impostor. When Ji Mo is suddenly asked to pose as "Evelyn" and give the trial lesson, a photo of her with a professor from Qiaoqiao's dream school unexpectedly wins Qiaoqiao's trust. But after the contract is signed, they run into the real Evelyn (Sister Shan, Ji Mo's senior from school), and the scam is exposed on the spot. Qiaoqiao storms off in anger, and Randy, the agency's boss, demands that Ji Mo forge an employment contract dated three years earlier so the scam can continue. Torn between conscience and the pressure to survive, Ji Mo pretends to go along and sign, but the moment she takes Qiaoqiao's contract, she tears both documents up, grabs Qiaoqiao and rushes for the elevator. At the last second, Evelyn, who has already resigned, opens the elevator door for them, and the three escape with the tablet that holds key evidence of the scam.
