Synopsis

Chenxi is a blind teenage girl whose greatest dream is to enjoy family happiness in beautiful nature with her parents and grandfather. In reality, she lives alone with her grandfather and helps him at his shoe repair stall, leading an ordinary life. Her grandfather always tells her that her parents have gone abroad to do business and earn money for her, and that in a few years they will come back for her and take her abroad for eye surgery. Every day Chenxi looks forward to the moment the family will be reunited. But one day something happens that disrupts their quiet life. As her grandfather and Chenxi are about to leave for the shoe repair stall, Uncle Wang, a community worker, rushes in and tells the grandfather that a thug named Wang Erma is smashing up his stall, and the two men hurry off. Chenxi waits anxiously at home. After she does not know how long, her grandfather suddenly returns, out of breath. His eyes red, he tells her that he will soon take her to a few places. Chenxi is confused: what has happened? What is wrong with Grandpa? The next day, her grandfather takes her to a private special boarding school. Chenxi does not understand why he has suddenly brought her here or why they cannot go on living as before. He does not explain much and tells her to wait outside. She faintly hears him arguing with the principal. Soon he storms out, slamming the door, and leads her away from the school. Chenxi does not know what has happened. Why has Grandpa changed like this? Why does he want to send her away? What happened that day between Uncle Wang, Grandpa and the thug Wang Erma? And where will Grandpa take Chenxi next, and for what?
