Synopsis

Open Sesame is a short about family love told through fingerprints. In today's fast-moving times, have busy young people neglected the parents who most need their attention? Xiao Song works in planning at a real estate company. Because he works overtime all the time and cannot look after his family, he brings his elderly mother to live with him in the city to take care of his daughter's daily needs. To adapt quickly to city life and spare her son any worries, his mother records many voice directions on her phone for the trips she often makes. Xiao Song, who rarely spends time with his parents, decides for convenience to replace the ordinary lock at home with a fingerprint lock. But on the day of installation, his boss asks him to come along to a business dinner, so he arranges for his mother to stay with the installer. Because years of hard work have worn down her hands, her fingerprints cannot be registered, and she can only sit outside the door waiting for her son to come home from the dinner. Meanwhile, for a chance at promotion, Xiao Song presses his fingerprint on a contract he should not sign...
