Synopsis
The first marine documentary in China shot on a HUAWEI phone. In the mysterious waters of Tulamben, a silent story unfolds in the quiet undersea world. The documentary Octopus Mother takes the audience deep into the life of a female octopus. Through careful camera work and moving narration, it shows the whole process of her life, from hunting and mating to laying eggs and hatching her young. The octopus mother is a loyal guardian. Her home is a hidden pipe at the bow of the Liberty shipwreck. She has lived in this habitat for two years and knows every coral and rock around her. The film records her daily life in detail, including how she hunts among the coral and how she hunts together with other marine creatures such as groupers. Over time, her life enters its final countdown. She begins preparing a safe home for her young who are about to hatch. To protect the eggs, she stops eating and stays in her den, carefully cleaning and tending these tiny lives. In the end her body will nourish her young, showing a unique and moving maternal love in nature. Octopus Mother is not only a documentary about marine life but also a tribute to the power of motherhood in nature. Through the octopus mother's story, the film calls on the audience to pay attention to and protect marine ecosystems and to recognize the value and meaning of every life. In the end, her story reminds us that although life's journey has an end, every life leaves a deep mark on the world.
