Synopsis

Let's Fall in Love combines animation and documentary techniques, using the viewpoint of a home surveillance camera to glimpse the dull yet romantic, fantastical day of a middle-aged man living alone. The film is also mobile footage that director Zhou Shengwei shot about life in quarantine during the pandemic. All the material was shot with a mobile phone together with a surveillance camera, and the editing, dubbing and animation were done entirely with short-video apps and stop-motion animation apps on the phone. Life in quarantine is lonely, yet full of new longing and expectations of love.
