Synopsis

What did we go through in 2020? What distance would keep us both safe and free? The COVID-19 pandemic forced me to keep thinking, and my original way of working changed. The work between the performers and me shifted from group rehearsals to individual rehearsals, which were later turned into images through editing. I tried using image blending to forcibly link five dancers who seem unrelated, reflecting the turbulence and instability of society at the moment. Three things accompanied me in 2020: a mask, gloves and a mobile phone. I tried to blur these three objects while thinking about the relationships between people, and between people and these three things. May there be no distance between us.
