Synopsis

Ever since I was a child I wanted to be a big shot, but I had no role models around me, only counterexamples, like my uncle, my eldest aunt's husband. He is not good with words, he is stingy, and he is overly cautious, and my aunt often teases him. Over time he lost all credibility in our family. In 2022, when I was 32, my uncle and aunt came to Suzhou from out of town to renovate an apartment. During that time I came to know and understand him again, looked anew at him and at my childhood dream, and found that I had quietly become the same kind of person as he is. With this film I hope to encourage people to care more about those around them who, like my uncle, are quiet yet take responsibility. Being loud does not mean a person takes responsibility. In 2023 my uncle and aunt finally moved to Suzhou. When their daughter returns from abroad, her first stop is Shanghai, and Suzhou is the closest place to her that they can afford. Just 70 km away, the two wait calmly for her to take the high-speed train to visit them now and then.
