The sudden death of Riko's estranged brother prompts her to travel to Tohoku, a place with which she has no connection. Over the course of four days, she undertakes the task of cleaning up after her brother she once hated. Riko has always harbored negative feelings toward him, but as she sorts through his things and surroundings with his ex-wife and their child, she discovers a side of her brother she never knew -- and remembers the side of him she should have known. Through laughter, tears, complaints, and long-held questions, she finally finds a way to say goodbye to her brother.
