Synopsis
On January 2, 1921, the steamship Santa Isabel, carrying 260 Spanish emigrants to Argentina, struck a reef and sank near the island of Sálvora in Galicia. Only three or four women from the island came to the rescue, and they saved 50 passengers in the end. They were praised as heroines, yet some suspected them of causing the wreck on purpose and stealing from the dead. As an Argentine journalist determined to find out what happened digs deeper, the truth seems to slowly come to light.
