Two Funerals
Director Sun Huawei Screenwriters Zeo Chang, Sun Huawei
A fugitive named Gui sneaks back home to attend his mother's funeral. Disguised as a Buddhist monk, Gui only wishes to perform one chanting session for her and then quickly leaves. However, when suddenly called upon to complete the coffin-sealing ceremony as the only son of his family, he flinches from revealing his true identity, paralyzed by the past. To make matters more complicated, a young man who takes Gui as a genuine monk pleads with him to recite scriptures for his deceased mother. In the end, Gui gives the young man's mother the last rites, fulfilling his filial duty as a son.
