Film Introduction
The story takes place in Saigon in the 1980s. Ling Phong is a star performer in a touring troupe of a modified opera, which is heavily burdened by loan sharks during the course of the tour. Yong "Peepli" is sent by his boss to collect the debts of the troupe. A seemingly impossible intimacy occurs between the two men, from which Ling Feng learns that feeling life is a necessity for art, and Yong follows him to recover his once lost dream of art, and life begins to make sense.
