Synopsis
The story takes place in Saigon in the 1980s. Linh Phung is a star actor in a touring cai luong troupe, and the troupe has run up heavy debts with loan sharks during the tour. Dung "Thunderbolt" is sent by his boss to collect the debt. An unlikely intimacy grows between the two men: Linh Phung learns that art needs the experience of life, and Dung, following him, recovers the dream of art he once lost. Life begins to have meaning.
